US - UK Swap?

Hi there!

I am looking for someone to do a USA/UK swap!

I am a genuine person and I am hoping to swap with another genuine person from the USA. I can send brands that you cannot get in the USA such as:

  • Sleek
  • MUA
  • Barry M
  • Natural Collection
  • Collection 2000
  • Bourjois

I can also send some UK snacks and sweeties since I know they cannot be found in the USA either.

Please leave a comment or message me direct at:

or email

Has anyone done a swap before?

Primark -vs- Topshop

Hello there!

I found a fashion rivalry for you guys!
As I was browsing my local Primark (Newcastle; Northumberland Street) I found a pair of Studded Slipper style shoes which were spookily similar to a pair I'd seen previously in Topshop.
You can see in the first image below, the Topshop slipper shoes which retail at £26. These are the canvas design but you can get leatherette and suede effect too!
The shoes below (nude pair) are the Primark version of the above Topshop Vectra flats. I got the picture off Google to show you the best quality of the shoe.

The black version can be seen above. This is my own picture. The material seems to be very sturdy and not thin so it seems to be good quality. The studs seem to be very secure on the shoe and there is grip on the bottom so this will be good for once the ground starts to ice up a little bit. They're really comfy and I can see myself wearing them a lot!

The only difference between the Vectra and the Primark alternate is the studs on the Vectra go all of the way around the shoe whereas the Primark shoe only has studs on the front panel.

I think for the price of £10 the Primark version is a little more healthier for your wallet as you can get two pairs and still have change as opposed to the £26 for one pair of Vectra's.

I hope you enjoyed this fashion comparison!

Have you got a pair of Vectras? What is your opinion on cheaper alternates?

Stila Cosmetics: £1

Hello!

Today I paid a small visit to one of my favourite shops ever. Poundland. This is a shop where everything is £1! I love it because you can get some amazing steals and you just cannot believe it's £1.

Today I went in and browsed the beauty section which is my first stop on every visit! On this occasion I found one of the best bargains I have ever come across in Poundland. Stila Cosmetics

Until recently, when the company started to stock in Boots, it was hard to find Stila unless it was Christmas time in the UK. I managed to get my hand on two amazing products which I know I will get some great use out of.

First, is the Stila spf30 Oil Free Sheer Cover Tinted Moisturiser which I got in shade Bare (Light 2)

I have tried this out and it is very easy to apply has quite a thick consistency for a Tinted Moisturiser but blends out really well and a little goes a long, long way. On your skin it feels airy and light and doesn't really feel like there is anything on your skin. The colour is a perfect match for me and I am going to try and get some more!

The final product I got was the Stila 4 Pan Compact which is a sleek and simple design emblazoned with the Stila logo. I think this will be brilliant when I fill it with some eyeshadows and will be so easy to take away if I stay out for a night.

I could not find the RRP prices online for these products so I am unsure whether they have been discontinued or not.

Let me know if you have any Poundland bargains!

Soap and Glory: Glad Hair Day Review

Hello there Junkettes!

This is my first review! Yay! Let's get right in!

I decided to review the Soap and Glory Glad Hair Day Shampoo and Intensive Conditioner

According to the Boots.com webpage, the shampoo, can give your moody mane the heave-ho. In addition to this there is a bunch of fruity fragrances with an added boost of peach! The smell is that of all Soap and Glory products which I absolutely love, however the shampoo itself isn't very good, in my opinion. The gel formula really enticed me but when lathering on the hair and scalp it just didn't perform to what I was expecting. It didn't make me feel like my hair was very clean so I used an additional shampoo on top of it. Everything about the product was cute except I really wouldn't pay the full price of £5.50. I got the sample 50ml tube which I got for £2.50. Overall the product smells nice, feels nice and looks nice but the performance isn't up to the price of the product!

Next, conditioner! Now, this is a different story.

Again I purchased the small 50ml travel sized for £2.50 from Boots. The smell of this product is different to that of the shampoo. On the description it says that there is White Peach and Sweet Banana which I think makes it smell amazing! It is a really thick formula which is supposed to tame and manage thick and damaged hair. My hair is really thin but unbelievably frizzy and after just one use of this, I applied it generously and left it on while I exfoliated, I could see a big difference in the amount of frizz my hair had generated. My hair is naturally wavy and the conditioner helped to define the curls a lot more.

Overall, the shampoo isn't brilliant but the conditioner is ah-mazing!

Let me know what you think? Have you got differing opinions?

Second Hand Fashion!

Hello there Junkettes!

Just a quick little post this morning to let you all know about something I think everything is a little sceptical over. Second hand fashion items!

Now I know what a lot of people are thinking! OMG they're used!? Eww! Well yes, they are used but however in the current economic climate, recycling is becoming more and more necessary and popular. Sites such as Ebay, Gumtree and Facebook hold host to the selling/swapping of unwanted fashion items. These sites are a fab alternative to the sometimes dreaded Charity Shop! You can find some real steals on sites such as the above and I have some examples!!

I will add pictures a little later on, however for now I will leave a little list.

  • Juicy Couture Daydreamer Handbag (authentic, I checked for all tell tale signs) - £16 - Facebook Cheap Clothes Shop
  • Jack Wills T-Shirts - £10-£16 - Ebay
  • Louis Vuitton Bag - £39.99 - Ebay
  • Coast Dress - £6 - Charity Shop
I hope this post helps someone to realise there is a lot more than meets the eye to Second Hand fashion items.

Yves Saint Laurent Make Up Bargains!

Hello there junkettes!

This post was promised to be on Soap and Glory but I treated myself at the weekend to something truly amazing and I just had to share! First off I am sorry about the camera quality photos! They're awful but they'll do until I save for a new camera!

The first item I got is the Luxurious Mascara & Eye Make-Up Remover Duo which is a Limited Offer purchase. I couldn't find it on the internet but if you look in your local large Boots store you may find it. It's original price was £37 and I bought it for £18.50. The packaging is really luxurious however it is very reflective which you can see in the photographs! (Sorry for the bedding!)

This box is hiding a 100ml bottle of Eye Make-Up Remover Bi-Phase and the Mascara Volume Effect Faux Cils

The packaging of the mascara is amazing. The box is cardboard and is gold and reflective just like the outside boxing. The only difference I've noticed is the colouring on the YSL logo. I have used the mascara and have to say although it is good, I feel there are better cheaper alternatives. The eye make-up remover however is absolutely amazing! I fell in love, it didn't sting my eyes, it took off the make-up without having to rub or scrub and it left my eyes feeling soft and really moisturised.

My next bargain is the Gloss Volupte Sheer Sensual Gloss Stick in Shade 2 - Chilled Raspberry. This retails at £22 but I got it on sale for £10.50. The colour is a lovely hot pink but due to the sheerness of the product it does not have the same pigmented pay off on the lips. The gloss itself is really smooth and feels really nice on the lips.

The packaging of this gloss is a shiny gold finish which feels quite heavy and shows the colour on a small band around the middle.

Overall I think the Yves Saint Laurent beauty products I got at Boots in the MetroCentre are the best buys I could ever get because I didn't even think the high end brands did sales!
